A Party and a Friend.

The evening of the party could not have come sooner. Castilla took the girls to purchase decorations while Charles worked in the yard. With the new additions to the home Castilla opted for a garden party.

Her list was meticulous. She could not afford to be too forward. If people were going to talk about her and her family. She wanted to make sure she directed what was said. She made sure her guest were a mixture of single and married and she had arranged for the girls to have a sitter during the event.



At first Charles was being cordial. Entertaining their guests. However he did take a liking to one guest in particular. Winifred Kendall, no one knew much about her. Though her family had lived in the city for quite some time. And, despite knowing that Charles was a widower with two children she flirted heavily. The days following the party Charles would find any excuse to go to the library in his free time and she would meet up with him there. They chatted and flirted becoming quite close. It seemed as though his heart wanted to move on, to let her in.
